sonofa

I dropped my Lanvin bag off at Nordstrom to get repaired because the strap for the interior pocket snapped off while I was vacationing in Europe. The gal told me that they would have to send it back to Lanvin to have it fixed. I'm always kinda iffy about that but I really wanted it to get done nicely.

Anyway, she told me it'd be 6-8 weeks to get my beloved back and she printed out a receipt with a promise date of March 21, 2008. Cut to today, I hadn't received a phone call, so I called them.

I'm freaking out cos they can't find it! What the eff?? Bitch betta give me my bag or I'm gonna cut somebody!!!

*sniff* Dahling, come home...

the hills are alive! (with the sound of music...)

Yeah yeah. Cheesy. I know.

Anyhoo, I'm sure you've already caught up on the new season of The Hills. Did you totally think that Lauren was so unprofessional about pinning up that Alberta Ferretti dress and wearing it out? Sure sure, the dress burning was probably completely staged and all, but come on!

What kind of moron is she? I kinda wish they didn't give her a new dress. It'd be awesome if she got in trouble for that. I love it when Lisa Love makes her feel bad.

I'm hating.

Schedule any manicure or pedicure appointment between now and April 21st, and they'll swap out your polish - no questions asked. Limit one trade-in per visit, with purchase of any nail treatment.

For more info.

Thanks Karen!

I love free stuff. I used this stuff before and while it smells really earthy, it feels really nice on your skin.

island girl

I finally cleaned out my coffee mug today... I think the last time I had coffee was about three weeks ago. EWWIIEEE!

Actually, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Probably cos I covered it. Sometimes I'll have a little fuzzy island of mold floating in there. This time there was just a thin crust on the edge.

I'm grody.

back to the old country

I let Stinko decide where we would have dinner on Saturday night. Remind me never to do that again.

Not only did I have to stand in line for 20 minutes with a bunch of skanky people, Stinko conveniently forgot his wallet so I had to pay! The fun doesn't end there. The hostess seated us right by the window! Thank goodness no one I knew walked by to witness my shame.

The fried chicken looked edible so I grabbed a piece of that but as soon as I sliced into it, a fountain of grease burst out and nearly blinded me. Luckily - and I use this term loosely, it was also steak night. I doused the rubber meat with generic A-1 sauce and didn't die of food poisoning. I'm stickin' with the mashed potatoes and corn - not that there ever be a next time.

finally!

I've waited a month and finally this sweater is on sale at the Gap. Too bad I can't find it in my size!

Bah! This is what I get for waiting for stuff to go on sale. I should buy stuff at regular price from now on.

Thanks for checking for me Veen!

blink blink

I know, I know. I just bought that Jan Marini magic potion for my lashes but I haven't opened it yet. My good friend in Japan just sent over this stuff called MW Lash so I'm giving it a whirl before I start Jan.

The applicator is a lot like the applicator for YSL Touche Eclat so I wasn't quite sure how to use it. I found the website and it's freakin' hilarious. Here's an exerpt, typos included:

This eyelash essence is the pencil type .
The head of the container is soft brush .
You can apply it until the root area.
The end of the container is pushbutton type, therefore, you can control this by single thumb only .
One side of the container is half transparent, and you can see the remain volume .

I can understand all the words, but somehow it doesn't make sense!

insubordination

I just complimented my boss on his new shirt. I guess his wife bought it for him and he thinks the color is too frou-frou. I told him it brings out his eyes – they look less dead now. D’oh!

panty raid

I'm obsessed with new underwear. I love buying and wearing new underwear. Even on days where I feel like I'm dressed completely scrubby, if I have new undies on, I feel fabulous - it's my secret confidence booster.

As much as I keep telling myself to avoid shopping at American Eagle because I'm an old lady, I couldn't resist their crazy sale! Eight pairs for $25!

I love their boy shorts!

i do

As you may or may not have noticed, I've been obsessing about finding an affordable, chunky gold ring. I think I found it.

It's kinda hard to see in the small picture, but it's a bouquet of flowers! It's not overly expensive at $158. Of course, I still need to wait a while because I've put myself on a monthly shopping budget and I've already surpassed it for March! D'oh.

I think this necklace is really cute too. I can see my friend Nicole wearing it.

More designs at Moss Mills.

must... keep.. going...

This is so annoying.

I've been exercising regularly for the last several weeks and I really haven't seen any results other than being unable to walk up the stairs from the soreness. I just keep telling myself that I'll see the results soon.

Then Stinko goes to the gym just a couple times in the last week and already he sees changes and improvements. Basically, he'll be back to "normal" in a couple more weeks, even after foregoing the the gym for more than 3-4 months!

How is that even fair? Stinko needs to work out regularly just to keep his weight up. It's just so wrong. If he doesn't go to the gym, he loses weight so fast. I wish my life was like that. All that ever happens is that my arms get bulky and then I can't fit my shirts any more.

I hate that when I stand behind him, you can still see me. Damn these birthin' hips.

ms. new bootie (again)

As I was making pancakes last night (it was bfast for dinner night), my pervarazzi bf walks in to see me wearing my old navy bootie shorts. He starts chanting any number of misogynistic rap songs. Then he realizes that I'm not wearing my knee high tube socks and stops. "Oh. You're not wearing your socks. It's not the same. You look normal now."

Apparently when I have the magical socks on, I'm "LRB - Barely Legal".

I'm practically a super hero!

50 lashes

I finally broke down and ordered a new tube of Jan Marini's Age Intervention Eyelash potion. I tried to make it last as long as I could, but now it's just gross. I stopped using the one I had a couple months ago.

I love the stuff. My lashes actually look longer when I'm using it.

Most places sell it for $160 but SkinWest always sells it for about $130. There's also a coupon for 20% off too! Use the code jbvuhnjy through March 24.

late for work

The problem with having an iPhone is that as soon as I wake up I can check my personal email to see what's on sale. Of course, the first thing I see is that shopbop has new markdowns.

I kinda like this coat by Tucker. It's only 50% off though, so I'll hold out for 70%.

Anyway, not realizing 15 minutes had gone by, I missed my usual bus and got to work late.

Target Signs Botkier Accessories Deal
By Sophia Chabbott

Add Botkier to the laundry list of top accessories brands doing lines for Target.

Sources said designer Monica Botkier is designing a line of bags for the mass merchant. Rafe, Devi Kroell, Loeffler Randall, Hollywould and Gryson most recently did lines for Target.

Botkier, a fashion photographer who launched her handbag brand five years ago — because she couldn’t find a handbag that quite suited her — sells her accessories at stores such as Barneys New York, Saks Fifth Avenue and Harvey Nichols.

This spring the brand launched shoes in addition to producing belts and some jewelry. Last month the firm’s Web site, Botkier.com, went live for e-commerce.

Neither Target nor Botkier could be reached for comment.

I'm not sure when it's going to come out and I don't think there are photos of the designs yet. But I can't wait!

paper or plastic?

Target has hooked up with another bag designer. This time it's Gryson. Here are a couple that I like.

I like the idea of these bags. But like the Loeffler Randall bags, I don't know if I can get myself to buy one because they were all PVC and do you really want to pay $50 for bag made of plastic?

You can see the rest of the designs here.

UPDATE: Sorry, I forgot to mention that it debuts on April 6.

Thanks Veen!

a whole new world

My mummy only recently discovered why I absolutely love using large bags. She couldn’t stand my YSL Muse bag and she had no idea why I would buy the Chloe bag in Paris. Then she started using this bag that she bought for me in Italy. (I’m such a bag snob and never used it because it wasn’t designer. D’oh! Anyway, this isn’t about me.) It’s a pretty big bag and she started stuffing it with all her knick-knacks that she used to carry in a second bag. Now she sees that with a big bag, she can carry it all!

When she tried to change back to one of her little bags, she got so annoyed with it because it was too small! Hahaha. I created a monster. So the other night she was talking about buying the Louis Vuitton Neverfull bag because it’s big without being too heavy. I told her that she could borrow the Louis Vuitton Horizontal Lock-It bag that she had given to me a couple years ago. (This was the bag that her friend convinced her to buy but she never used it because she felt it was too big!) Now she’s convinced that I stole the bag from her because she loves it so much. Whatever.. Indian giver.

In exchange, I took her “vintage” Chanel wallet. I hope she visits her friend in NYC again, so she can convince mummy to buy another designer bag.

there's a new hag in town

There’s a new gal sitting next to me at work. I really shouldn’t be judging her mainly because she’s only been here for four days. So far, she doesn’t seems like the sharpest tool in the shed. But I’ll give you an update after 90 days. She kinda talks like one of those ladies on the SNL skit about Scwheddy Balls. She’s always saying how she’s embarrassed. It’s weird how nervous she is. And she didn’t know what a PDF was. WTH?

Here’s an update on the other hag though.

Ever since that last conversation, I blocked her from my IM and life has been peachy keen! Except today. She’s over here flappin’ her hag jaw about how she got burned while using the tanning bed at her apartment. Then she flashes me her gut and not only does it look like a red hot slab of Christmas ham, but she seriously has her belly button pierced! Ewwiiee!

Let me get this straight.. People started getting their bellies pierced circa 1996… Most likely she didn’t get it pierced until a few years into the fad so we’ll say maybe around 2000. Hag is about 50 years old… Do the math. She got it done at 42!

Kids, if you get body piercings, take ‘em out when you hit 30. It’s not cute.

i'll take two

Ever since I got back from Paris, I've been dreaming about the new Louis Vuitton Epi colors at Eluxury.

I absolutely adore that dark purple color. Wouldn't you be willing to chew off your bf's toes nails for one of these bags? For more backstory..

pretend to be outdoorsy

Well, of course I went shopping this weekend... I kinda really like Nau's Asylum jacket. You can't really tell from the photo, but it's actually very stylish compared to other rain/snow jackets.

It's on sale for 50% off but at $198, it still seems kinda pricey. (Though the quality of the jacket seems worth it..) I'm going to check on it in a couple weeks. Maybe it'll go down a little more.

What's interesting about the Nau store is that if you have them send it directly from the warehouse (rather than just taking it from the store), you get a 10% discount. Isn't that weird?

Friday, March 7, 2008

this is why i'm poor

I've been obsessed with this dress that I saw Kate Hudson wearing in a photo.

It's by 3.1 Phillip Lim and it's $675! Even if I were to find it at 50% off I still couldn't afford to buy it!

Banana Republic has a paisley top that's sorta reminiscent of this dress but I don't think I want to buy it cos I'd rather have a Phillip Lim.

*sigh*

beached whale

I don't know what I was thinking. I went to Target last night and picked up a couple bikinis. (I hate spending a ton of money on swimwear because it's not like I go to the beach all the time! Why do stores charge over $100 for that crap?)

Don't get me wrong, I really like the two I chose. And if I had a hot body, I'd probably buy a few more! But right now, my body is a hot mess. (This is all while I'm having a Starbucks coffee and a butter croissant!) I'm just hoping that I can tone up before Mexico. I have three months. I also have three months to return stuff at Target... It's win-win.. ish.

I bought the Jovovich-Hawk polka-dot one.

And I also bought this Xhilaration one. It was on sale for 50% off so the set cost only $15 total. My niece says she likes this one because it looks like a watermelon.

I need to do some squats now. Or maybe I'll go get lipo and have them suck out the juice in my gut and pump it into my boobs - just rearrange it all.

you glow girl

I've been using this foundation stick that I bought in France by by Terry. It goes on super light and blends in perfectly. I actually think it's improving my skin. It must be the skincare that's in the middle. All I know is that it's wonderful.

I did a quick search on this line and I guess Terry de Gunzburg actually used to work for the YSL cosmetics line and developed YSL's most desirable product - Touche Eclat! No wonder her stuff is fabulous!

It's pretty pricey but can you really put a price on perfection? I didn't think so.

Barney's carries it.

la cucaracha! ole! and grassy ass!

Uhh.. is that racist?

Cos we're going to MEXICO!! Hunny-bunny came through and bought our package to Cabo! We're going at the end of June so that means I have about three and a half months to stop eating.

soooo hungry....

Tuesday, March 4, 2008

no no no

For some reason, I really like this Loeffler Randal bag.. Not that I'm even thinking about getting it because I love my Chloe!

I think it's the color.

Maybe when it goes on sale at eluxury.

hurry!

Piperlime is having a one day additional 15% off their final sale!

Thanks Nicole!

ms. new bootie

You know how I just bought some bootie shorts at Target? I put them on after work today and my bf said I look like I should be in a rap video. I think it was a compliment.

Who would've guessed I'd be Hot Slut of the Day! I could be the next Coco or Shauna Sand!

(See dlisted if you don't get it.)

hits & misses

I woke up early yesterday and met my cousin at Target for the new Go International line by Jovovich-Hawk. (Yes, we're insane.)

They didn't even have the display out yet! But we asked and they brought the entire rack out for us to dig through. Some of the pieces were heinous, but we found a few that were quite cute!

I picked up this cute little terry dress. It's really comfortable and I think it'll be great for the summer.

I also bought this dress. I tried it on and it's not as long as it is on the model. I'll have to wear a tank underneath though. I don't have enough cleavage. Haha. D'oh.

I also bought some booty short that were only $15 and super cute.

I'm always tempted to buy a lot of stuff, but I tried to keep it to items that I know I'll actually wear - though I've been browsing online this morning too. Only because not everything was available at the store.

I should get back to work. That'll keep me from shopping.

Sunday, March 2, 2008

where'd those come from?

I've been thinking about getting new jeans for a couple weeks. I've pretty much been rotating four pairs because I can't really fit the rest of them. *sigh*

Anyway, I decided to try them all on just to be sure. Well, I have this one drawer in my ghetto Ikea dresser that never really opens so I never really open it. But I opened it today and what do I find? A pair of seven jeans that I don't remember buying! Not only are they practically new but they FIT!

Its like the jean fairy paid me a visit! Yippee! New jeans! Its even better than finding your own money in the laundry!

Too bad most of the others don't fit. I just put them back in the mystery drawer. Some day I'll wear them again! (Picture Scarlet O'hare with her fist in the air...)
