heading south-ish

Mango and I are heading down to Portland, OR for a day of tax-free shopping this weekend. We've been scopin' out restaurants for the past couple days and have settled on two.

The Oregonian recommended Belly Timber so we're going to try it for brunch. Their Belly Benedict sounds scrumptious with poached eggs, roasted pork belly and hollandaise. Anything with pork belly is divine!

...shop..shop..shop...

And finally, since we don't want to drive home too late, we decided we'll eat supper some where in between Seattle and Portland. A quick search for diners along Interstate 5 came up with the Country Cousin in Centralia.

My brother Jack is somewhat concerned for our safety since we'll be two Asian girls in a predominately er... non-Asian area. I told him not to worry because I plan to wear my Obama shirt that day. D'oh. I joke, I joke.

From pork belly to greasy spoon. I hope I don't die of a heart attack on the way home. *burp*

in case you have no friends or family...

Let me fill that lonely void in your life.

round 3

Or is it 4? I can't keep track these days. Coworkers are dropping like flies around here and we just received another company-wide email about anticipating even more layoffs.

All this bad news makes me want to shop. That's probably bad right?

At least I'm totally crazy and took up a part time contracting job. It's kinda more what I want to do anyway but they didn't have anything full time. So I'll be working on my own time from home. Will be nice to have to some extra money for the wedding or Chanel or Louboutin or Choo.

Besides, I pretty much have no life these days so I might as well do some work and get P-A-I-D.

I start training next week. Good thing they're providing me with a laptop. Mine is crap and I'd rather spend my hard earned dolla-dolla-bills-y'all on a bag for the laptop than the actual laptop.

it's not even 9 am..

This is all TamPham's fault. I take no responsibility for what just took place.

Master, I mean TamPham, has magical, mind-controlling abilities. I swear. Somehow she took advantage of my love for all things Chanel.

I'm still not sure how it happened. All of a sudden I was clicking the place order button on Bluefly.

She's so good that she even made me google a coupon for an additional $20 off to save me some money.

By the way, it's AFF20 and it expires on All Hallows Eve. Muahahahaha...

Not my fault!

i am this ghetto

I pulled on my tights today and realized there was a big hole in the toe.

I still wore them to work.

hello lover

I am in love again. (What else is new?)

Absolutely craving this Lanvin Oversized Padova Sac in the blue suede. Every girl needs a ginorous slouchy tote.

If only it wasn't over $2000. Then again, I just saved $3000 on my wedding dress...

shirt tales

As you all know, I love my fiance dearly. I mean, I'm even planning to marry the bozo. Sadly, after last night's revelation, I really think I need to reconsider.

It's come to my attention that Hunny Bunny has only recently (and by recently I mean a few days ago) discovered that you can unbutton the button on the cuff of the shirt in order to roll the sleeves up.

*shaking head*

It just never dawned on him how other people could so easily and neatly roll up that sleeve! I just stared at him blankly.

On another note, do you remember that cartoon "Shirt Tales?"

never too crazy

Okay. Is this J. Crew Astrid jacket too busy? For some reason I really, really like it. Maybe even a little obsessive about it because it's been on my mind for a while.
I tried it on last week and thought it was little bit Chanel-esque. I picture myself wearing it with straight leg jeans and flats. And maybe one of my vintage bags.

While I'm picturing things, I also imagine myself being about 5 inches taller and about 20lbs skinnier.

Anyway, I think I'll wait for it to go on sale. Everything at J. Crew goes on sale at some point.

save the cheerleader, save the world

Scene: Me watching Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Making the Team.

Hunny Bunny: Are you watching that cheerleader show again?

Me: Yeah. It's kinda fun.

HB: Don't you think it's kind of sexist?

Me: What do you mean?

HB: Maybe "sexist" isn't the word. But those coaches are always tellings those girls they're fat and need to lose weight.

Me: Oh.. I guess so..

HB: That's just wrong! They're not fat! They shouldn't say things like that. It'll give them an eating disorder.

Me: Wow. You actually care about them??

HB: No. I'm just saying...

Me: Uh huh.. sure...

the gift of gift-giving

So this was my own little bday present to myself. Somehow it's a lot longer on me than on the model - probably because I'm only 5'3" and wearing not-a-size-0 and she's probably 6'3" and wearing a size 0.

I've been looking for the perfect floral dress for a while but until now, they've all been too floral. I need subtly here! I can't go around looking like some batty flower basket. Anyway, this Rebecca Taylor number just the right amount of color.

I can't wait to wear it! Maybe when HB takes me on a birthday make-up dinner because he totally missed my birthday! (He's been in Chicago for work. BOO!) And there better be a make-up dinner and a damn good present too. Knowing Hunny Bunny though, he'll probably just get me a gift card to Barneys. I won't complain.

Barneys is my frenemy.

i need a facial

I'm a grown woman! Why am I still breaking out?? It's limited to about a two-inch area but it won't stop!!

GARRRRR.

I won't post any pictures because that would be disgusting.

ay-o

I love this Alice & Olivia cardigan (in grey, not so much a red girl here.)

LOVE.

I made the mistake of trying it on while in San Francisco. I say mistake because I knew that as soon as I put it on, I would swoon and now I'm sad because I cannot spend $350+ on a cardigan.

Did I mention that it's lined in green satin? And fits me perfectly? And I can totally see myself wearing it with everything? And it buttons up to a cute funnel neck?

Need.

*sigh* When is it going on sale? There's only so much I can buy and excuse it as "a bday present to myself..."

redemption.. maybe.

I normally don't like to post pictures of myself, but after the last photo, I had something to prove.

So here I am.

Who/What/Wear:

  • Milly strapless dress. Hides the muffin.
  • Theory blazer that barely fits! Ouch.
  • Balenciaga heels. Loves!
  • Vintage Judith Leiber snakeskin clutch.
  • Chanel-inspired diamond ring.
  • Opera-length pearls.

  • How did I do?

Oh! And I suppose I should include the context of my outfit! I wore this to my Great Aunt's bday party in SF!

    3.1

I know you've been missing me. So in honor of the *ahem 6th anniversary of my 25th birthday, I will share my least fashionable moment (and most touristy!) during my trip to San Francisco.

Update: I had sent this post in via email and not all of it showed up. So here's the rest of it...

Yes, here I am modeling the latest in segway fashion. Notice I'm doing my best Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen signature prune lips in hopes that it'll add a little bit of the sexay I so desperately need.

I'll be the first to admit that riding the segway was sooooooo fun! Totally worth looking like a trash collector. (We rode by a guy who was actually pushing around the trash can wearing the EXACT vest. Sad!)

out of it and out of here

I must apologize for being completely out of it this week. Have had a lot on my mind and haven't been my usual hyper consumer. Yep. That's right. Shopping has not been of interest to me.

But that's all about to change!

Finally heading to San Franciscos on Saturday ayem for that family reunion/birthday party that I mentioned months ago. And I. Can't. Wait.

Sure, I'll be trapped in a room with my mother for the duration, but at least there will be shopping (and hopefully a mini-bar or even a full-sized bar) nearby.

In the meantime, I still need to pack. I have no idea what I'm going to wear and I kinda hate having to decide days in advance. I need options. But I'm only planning to bring a carry-on so I need to be very selective. Of course if I don't bring enough, there's always an excuse to go buy something. Not that I ever need an excuse.
