S&B

Shoes and bags, of course! Just got wind of the next designers partnering with Target this Fall. Anya Hindmarch will be doing a handbag collection and Sigerson Morrison will be doing a footwear collection.

They lines willbe available from Oct. 12, 2008 - Dec. 26, 2008.

I do like Sigerson Morrison shoes, but who knows how well it will do at Target. I can't wear shoes that aren't cloth or leather. PVC/synthetic materials just aren't that comfy. But maybe the line will be so cute that I'll succumb.

Gawd, I'm such a hyper-consumer. The U.S. Goverment should be thanking me for single-handedly keeping the economy going. Hmm. Not a busy morning here, maybe I should shop.

Thanks Nicole!

row row row your boat

The new GO International line at Target debuts in just a couple more weeks with designer duds by Rogan! I guess some lucky folks in LA and NYC get to preview and purchase it at Barneys. Booo!

Anyway, I don't know why the pix turn out all Smurfy when I post them here so to check out what the line looks like visit Target.

suck for a buck

I'm such a sucker for things that are $1.

Did you know that Target now carries that ELF brand of cosmetics? (I used to get periodic emails from random frantic people saying something about Bloomingdales or Nordstrom carrying it in there store, and you better snap it up before the price goes up..) Everything is only $1! I know. Crazy right? But you really have to question the quality of it. I mean, it is made in China. You might just go blind because there's some bionic alien ectoplasma in it. *shudder*

Of course, I still bought one.

Target Signs Botkier Accessories Deal
By Sophia Chabbott

Add Botkier to the laundry list of top accessories brands doing lines for Target.

Sources said designer Monica Botkier is designing a line of bags for the mass merchant. Rafe, Devi Kroell, Loeffler Randall, Hollywould and Gryson most recently did lines for Target.

Botkier, a fashion photographer who launched her handbag brand five years ago — because she couldn’t find a handbag that quite suited her — sells her accessories at stores such as Barneys New York, Saks Fifth Avenue and Harvey Nichols.

This spring the brand launched shoes in addition to producing belts and some jewelry. Last month the firm’s Web site, Botkier.com, went live for e-commerce.

Neither Target nor Botkier could be reached for comment.

*******

I'm not sure when it's going to come out and I don't think there are photos of the designs yet. But I can't wait!

paper or plastic?

Target has hooked up with another bag designer. This time it's Gryson. Here are a couple that I like.

I like the idea of these bags. But like the Loeffler Randall bags, I don't know if I can get myself to buy one because they were all PVC and do you really want to pay $50 for bag made of plastic?

You can see the rest of the designs here.

UPDATE: Sorry, I forgot to mention that it debuts on April 6.

Thanks Veen!

beached whale

I don't know what I was thinking. I went to Target last night and picked up a couple bikinis. (I hate spending a ton of money on swimwear because it's not like I go to the beach all the time! Why do stores charge over $100 for that crap?)

Don't get me wrong, I really like the two I chose. And if I had a hot body, I'd probably buy a few more! But right now, my body is a hot mess. (This is all while I'm having a Starbucks coffee and a butter croissant!) I'm just hoping that I can tone up before Mexico. I have three months. I also have three months to return stuff at Target... It's win-win.. ish.

I bought the Jovovich-Hawk polka-dot one.

And I also bought this Xhilaration one. It was on sale for 50% off so the set cost only $15 total. My niece says she likes this one because it looks like a watermelon.

I need to do some squats now. Or maybe I'll go get lipo and have them suck out the juice in my gut and pump it into my boobs - just rearrange it all.

hits & misses

I woke up early yesterday and met my cousin at Target for the new Go International line by Jovovich-Hawk. (Yes, we're insane.)

They didn't even have the display out yet! But we asked and they brought the entire rack out for us to dig through. Some of the pieces were heinous, but we found a few that were quite cute!

I picked up this cute little terry dress. It's really comfortable and I think it'll be great for the summer.

I also bought this dress. I tried it on and it's not as long as it is on the model. I'll have to wear a tank underneath though. I don't have enough cleavage. Haha. D'oh.

I also bought some booty short that were only $15 and super cute.

I'm always tempted to buy a lot of stuff, but I tried to keep it to items that I know I'll actually wear - though I've been browsing online this morning too. Only because not everything was available at the store.

I should get back to work. That'll keep me from shopping.

ready, set, GO!

Finally! In a few short weeks, Target's GO International line featuring Jovovich-Hawk designs will be in stores!

From looking at the photos, it looks like more of the country bumpkin-chic that their known for. (I'm not sure why the pix turned out blue! Sorry!)

To see more (and BETTER) photos of the line, go here.

UPDATE: Duh! I forgot to say that it comes out on March 2, 2008. See you there!

off target?

Hmm. Maybe I was wrong about Jovovich-Hawk being the next in line for GO International.. Then again maybe Jonathan Saunders is after. Who knows!?

I'm not too familiar with his line but from the looks of his site, it's very pretty, not quite as edgy as the other designers.

This is the article from Women's Wear Daily.

Saunders to Hit Target?
By Nina Jones

Could Jonathan Saunders be the next designer to create a collection for Target?

According to industry sources, the Scottish designer is in talks with the Minneapolis-based retailer to produce a limited-edition collection for Target’s GO International range, which spotlights new names in the fashion industry.

If a collection does go ahead, Saunders would be following in the footsteps of Erin Featherston, Alice Temperley, Proenza Schouler, Luella Bartley and Loeffler Randall, who have all designed collections for the store.

Saunders declined to comment Tuesday, while a spokeswoman for Target could not be reached for comment.

Saunders, who is known for his inventive prints, is no stranger to cheap chic: His latest collection for the British high street retailer Topshop features jersey dresses printed with bold, primary color shapes. It will hit stores in the U.K. later this month. Saunders is also leaving London’s runways to show his fall 2008 collection during New York Fashion Week.

speaking of target

Starting in February, Target will be the exclusive retailer of Converse One Stars.

That skimmer is kinda cute! I'm not 100% sure but the line is supposed to be all encompassing with not only shoes but clothing and accessories. I love clothes that let me pretend to be athletic.

no go?

Has Target canceled their Go International line? All the displays were taken down when I was there over the weekend. I did some snooping around and word on the street is that Jovovich-Hawk is the next designer. It won’t debut until March so we’ll just have to hold tight until Spring.

What were you favorite designers? I liked Proenza Schular, Alice Temperley and Behnaz Sarafpour. Didn’t Stella McCartney design for Target in Australia? I’d be all over it if she did one for the US.

word on the street

Following in the footsteps of accessory designers Rafe and Hollywould, Target will be featuring shoes and bags by Loeffler Randall. Here's a sneak peak.

I'm not too crazy about them, especially if they're not leather, but maybe it's because the photos are pretty crappy. In any case, I'll see you on Dec. 30, when they debut!

resistance is futile

I just got an email from a salesgal at the Bellevue Nordstrom and she said there will be markdowns on Chloe, Marc Jacobs, Hogan "and many other designer handbags"! Eep! I might need to check it out. Usually their bags start at 33% off, sometimes if you're lucky, they're 40% off. Fingers crossed!

Here's the top that I bought at Target yesterday...

And here is the little jacket that someone else should buy (just because it's really cute..)

addicted

I don't know why I'm so addicted to Target's GO International-especially with sickly sweet Erin Fetherston designing. I mean, I actually woke up early to go to Target to see heart shaped bags and ruffly dresses! Alas, I have one more confession... I went to TWO Targets just in case there was something I missed. OH THE SHAME! (Just a side note, the Target in Factoria did not have any EF stuff out yet - which means that yes, I started by driving all the way down to the gloriously, magical Target in Renton!)

I tried on that ebony bow jacket. It's actually really cute, but the other stuff, they're a little too cute if you know what I mean. Seriously? Bunnies. No thanks. I ended up buying just the black tee with the faux bow. I didn't really like the bow but the top is surprisingly flattering as it hides my juiciness.

And then what do I do as soon as I get home? I hit up target.com! There were a bunch of items that weren't available at the store and next thing you know I have 4 items in my shopping cart! Honestly, the quality of the garments are questionable but I think I just like the idea of having them in my closet - as if they're going to be worth something in the future. HA! But I was good, I didn't "check out" and those items remain in shopping cart limbo. (By the way, did you know you can get 5 miles/$1 spent at target.com on Northwest Airlines? You just link to target.com through nwa.com and of course you have to be signed up for mileage too!)

I think the Loeffler Randall stuff comes out in January. I'm sorta looking forward to it even though the pix I've seen aren't that appealing. I think it's partly because I was obsessing over a Loeffler bag for a hot one. Then I realized that it was still $700+ and if I actually had that moola, I should probably save for a little longer and buy a real designer bag, like a delicious Balenciaga or a this-is-why-I-live-at-home Chanel. Do you even know where I'm going with this? Just a couple more months and I'll be in Paris. Ooh la la!
