pays to wake up early on the weekend

I skipped my Saturday morning run with my dad so I could go to the Nordstrom Cosmetics Trend Show in downtown Seattle. (I didn't feel too guilty because it was raining/snowing anyway!)

This was my second time attending this event. It's bad because I'm always a sucker for makeovers and new products!

I may not know what I'm going to do with it, but I'm still gonna buy it.

Anysomuchforbeingarecessionista, the Trend Show is basically a fashion show for makeup. During the show, they also have several drawings for random prizes...

I wasn't expecting to win anything. In fact, I was in the middle of digging in my bag when my name was suddenly announced. I'm pretty sure my hand just flew up and I just yelled "ME!" (Think Reese Witherspoon in Legally Blonde when she found out she got the final internship spot... Ha! )

And I won what I felt was the best prize - a Chanel cosmetics gift bag! Other prizes were simply creams and lotions and mascaras. This is what was included in mine:

  • a full size Ombre Essentielle eyeshadow in safari (gorg gray color)
  • a full size Rouge Hydrabase lipstick in aura (sheer pink color)
  • a deluxe sample of Precision Beaute Initiale Eye cream
  • a deluxe sample fo Chanel No 5
  • and a sample of Chanel No 5 fluid body gel
Even the lovelies sitting in front of me turned around to say how jealous they were!

shhhhhh.....

What I'm about to show is strictly confidential. This conversation never happened. And if you bring it up with Hunny Bunny, I'll deny everything.

I had a secret rendezvous at Nordstrom with my homegirl Coco and she looked amazing. Don't you agree? Just as effortlessly chic as usual.

It's a good thing I picked up that contracting position because all those paychecks seem to be going towards my not-supposed-to-be-shopping shopping.

Now I need to figure out when to debut these beauties because they just can't be presented with out some fanfare. Perhaps the office holiday party. Perhaps Thanksgiving dinner even though shoes come off at Gramma's. I hope my recent Marc by Marc Jacobs splurge arrives soon. Am thinking the skirt might be the perfect thing.

i need love

And I think I just found it - in the shape of these Chanel heart earrings!

Are they too loud? Maybe.

But I love the chain links.. I love the pink.. And I love the interlocking Cs!

I better go return a bunch of stuff that I just bought. Yikes. Don't know what I was thinking.

it's not even 9 am..

This is all TamPham's fault. I take no responsibility for what just took place.

Master, I mean TamPham, has magical, mind-controlling abilities. I swear. Somehow she took advantage of my love for all things Chanel.

I'm still not sure how it happened. All of a sudden I was clicking the place order button on Bluefly.

She's so good that she even made me google a coupon for an additional $20 off to save me some money.

By the way, it's AFF20 and it expires on All Hallows Eve. Muahahahaha...

Not my fault!

great white

Okay, so this bag isn't really white. It's more of a cream color. Either way, I'm retiring it for the year. This is the second Chanel that my mom ever bought. Can you tell she really liked this shape?

The hardware on the bag is on the verge of being an obnoxious gold but I think it just shows have fabulous the 80s were. I get so many compliments when I use it.

I especially love wearing it when I'm really dressed down and throwing it across my chest messenger style. The straps aren't really long enough for me to do that but I keep it towards the back and out of my way. I love carrying fancy bags when I'm wearing sweats.

The envelope pocket in the front is perfect for keeping my iphone and car keys easy to reach. There are three additional compartments at the top. One is full zipped and the other two are completely spacious.

Don't you think that all bags should have tons of pockets? I hate bags that turn into the black hole because of the lack of compartments. I'm a big fan of using pouchettes and other means of organizing to keep everything separate. I can't tell you how many calls I've missed because I couldn't find my phone! And have you had a wily tube of lipstick open in your bag and get everywhere? Not fun.

she got it from her mama..

I think I'm going through shopping withdrawals. I've been totally grumpy and I know it's because I haven't bought any clothes in a while.

Yes, I did go to H&M and F21 over the weekend.

And yes, I did have an armful of clothes.

But no, I put everything back because I just wasn't that into it.

Anyway, all this moping around got me started on digging around my closet for something old that I could pretend was new. Needless to say, I hate my outfit today. I don't even want to talk about what a mess I am today. Phooey.

On the bright side, I got to looking through my piles of bags.

My mommy used to be such a fashionista! These days she's all about sweater sets and capris but back in the day.. Look at this georgeous Chanel bag that I scavenged a while back.

Can you believe that she was on the verge of just "getting rid" of it! The horror!

(It's not like she didn't totally give away my first pair of Jimmy Choos. *sigh* She thought they were hers.. "No wonder they didn't fit!" Oh mommy...)

I totally remember when she bought this bag too - I was probably in 5th or 6th grade. We went to the Chanel boutique so many times to look at it because she felt so guilty for finally being able to afford it. Daddy convinced her that she deserved it.

I've been thinking about sending the bag back to Chanel and having it refurbished. The gal in the boutique says it takes a few months but it's worth it. Hmmm.. Maybe..

Anyway, it's good being the only daughter because I pretty much cleared out mommy's closet in one swoop. I'll share more of the loot later. A crocodile clutch anyone? And more Chanel to come... Ooof.

don't buy it

I've been coveting this little Chanel enamel flower ring for the longest time. I absolutely adore how humongous it is on my finger! I've tried it on a billion times.
(The blue clutch in the back isn't too shabby either!)

But I've been really bad lately - not keeping in my budget... Balenciaga shoes.. Boots from Urban Outfitters (they arrive later today so I'll decide if they're worth keeping then!)..

Basically, I'm not allowed to buy it. It's not super expensive, in fact it seems almost cheap! For Chanel any way. But I mustn't. I can't. Don't pressure me.

My bday is coming up in a couple months. Maybe then. A little present to myself.

shiny pretty

I think I'm a little bit in love with these Chanel Camellia earrings..

I wonder if daddy's goldsmith can make me a pair of inspired-by Chanel earrings. *laughs*

They are pretty though, aren't they?

And the fall eyeshadow palette and gold polish that I've been patiently waiting for have finally arrived! My gal at Nordies is holding it for me until the Anniversary sale so I can get double points.

Yay for double points! Boo for shopping when I'm not supposed to..

solid gold

Did you ever watch that show? It was awesome.

Anyway, I took a long lunch today (kinda by accident.. kinda not. *wink*) and ended up at the Chanel counter looking at nail polish. I was mainly inquiring about the limited edition bright L.A. colors. They're not in yet, but she said any day now. I kinda like that yellow one. I need to try it on first.

Being a good salesperson, she wisely told me about the upcoming Fall collection. Like, O-M-G. Forget the brights! Bring on the gold, sistah! The gold polish was to die for! And you better believe that I would be willing to have a good ol' fashioned knife fight in the name Chanel. Bring it on PazzoKev. Bring it!

Ahem.

She had a sample of the Fall eyeshadow quad palette with consisted of these luscious colors: gold, coffee, ivory and dark green. Of course I had to have her put me on the list for when these glorious shades arrive!

I feel prettier just thinking about it.

Oh and while I was at Nordstrom I also pre-saled this Vince jacket.

she told me to get it...

I know I'm not supposed to be buying anything.. That whole "sticking to my budget" is totally cramping my style! This palette just looks so gorgeous and don't you always love putting a little Chanel on? I certainly do. Phooey.

Maybe hunny bunny wants to share his winnings from yesterday's bball game! It's only $85!

Thanks tampham!

superstar

Nearly every year, I buy a new pair of sunglasses. And every year that I buy a new pair of sunglasses, I tell myself that I won't ever want to buy another pair because the ones I bought are just so fabulous. But every year, I want to buy a new pair.

I first saw these in Paris near rue de Rivoli, after we ate Butter Corn Ramen (miso ramen with corn and a huge pat of butter!)

Don't you just adore the flower? Chanel has outdone themselves again! I haven't tried them on yet because I might fall madly in love and have to buy them. Then again, they might not even fit my face because of my flat nose.. But they'd totally be worth it to have creases on my cheeks.

I'm a bit scared to ask how much they cost, but on Ebay, they're about $330. They're probably fake.
