oh the shame...

As a wannabe fashion blogger, I feel that I always need to be truthful with my purchases. All my purchase. No matter how embarrassing or shameful. I don't want to be one of those girls who only tells you about the designer finds. I mean, I do have my off days.

So here goes...

Yes. I bought TEVAS.

But they're not completely hideous, right? I chose the ones that look the least outdoorsy. They have a wedge, for Pete's sake! Give me a break! My justification for buying them was that I needed super comfortable sandals to take on our belated honeymoon to Vietnam, Macau, and Hong Kong! (Leaving Friday night! Eep!)

I promise to never wear them with socks. I'll even promise never to wear them should you and I cross paths in the future. And I promise to buy a pair of super high, uncomfortable heels to negate this purchase.

Please don't take me off your blog roll in disgust.

cherry go pop

I am no longer a QVC-virgin.

Instead of watching the Grammys, I spent much of Sunday night being convinced that I absolutely need smashbox products to make my life better.

Twist my rubber arm and see what happens? I finally succumbed to buying the Halo Hydrating Perfecting Face Powder. The deal sealer was when they threw in a full size brush with it for a few bucks more.

I thought it was really neat because the product is actually solid and you have to turn the cover to shave off as much product as you need.

Gawd. I feel like trash because I even took advantage of their four month Easy-Pay. I pretty much just put the thing on lay-away.

LOOK AT ME. What have I become? Next thing you know, I'll be buying dolls and ordering jogging suits from them. The floodgates have been opened.

To be continued....

proud

Okay. This is actually really sad. Talk about shopaholic...

The reason why I'm proud of myself is because last week I only bought one thing. Dammit! I totally just lied to you. I actually bought two things, but both from the same category...

Makeup!

It all started when I got an email from Smashbox advertising glorious items that were marked down! When I saw the GlamBox set full of neutrals, I had to have it! Eye color, mascara, cheek color, gloss and brushes. Oh my!

And did you know that if you order during specific hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays you'll get a little something extra for free! I got a free full size lip gloss.

Then one day, I hopped over to my neighborhood Nordstrom and picked up a new Nars lipstick in Belle du Jour to replace my Giorgio Armani nude lipstick. So really, in this case, I really wasn't shopping. I was just replacing something that I had run out of.

You want to know what's really depressing? (Since I'm in the mood to confess, I might as well put it all out there.)

I've been watching a lot of HSN and QVC.. I love watching all the makeup sales. I saw this one called Ready-to-Wear and really, really, REALLY wanted to order this magic lash extender. After the demonstration, the models all had lashes that looked like spiders! MUST HAVE.

And then there are all the presentations by Tarte and Smashbox and Philosphy. I can go on and on.

So far I've been able to resist picking up the phone and actually ordering. As much as I enjoy my "research", I don't want to be one of those people.

Then again Tyler Florence was on the other night and he was selling his new fancy cookware. I was soooo close to calling in just so I could talk to him.

I need help. Because now I've also admitted to watching non-cosmetics presentations!

Oh the shame!

hold me back

Could this be real? Have all my wildest dreams come true?

I got a text message this morning (yes, I get text message updating me on the happenings of NKOTB) that said there was going to be a cruise featuring my favorite guys!

Allegedly, it's a four-day cruise from Miami, FL to Nassau, Bahamas that includes live performances as well as photo ops and chances to meet them. I wonder if they'll be on the boat the entire time... I mean, I would imagine that that would kinda suck for them with a whole bunch of screaming fans. Then again, I'm sure there will be plenty of opportunities for hook ups with random people.

*Pick me! Pick me!*

No, I'm not really considering going. That much.

tag team back again

Miss Rhondalei of leileiluvsmakeup tagged be and boy do I feel special!
Directions: Once you’ve been tagged, you have to write a blog with sixteen random things, facts, habits or goals about you. At the end choose ten people to be tagged, listing their names and why you chose them. Don’t forget to leave them a comment (“you’re it”) and to read your blog. You can’t tag the person who tagged you.

Sixteen seems like a lot of info but here goes.

  1. If there's only one piece of anything left such as cake or meatballs, my brother and I like to dare each other to eat it in one bite.
  2. I hate shaving my legs. Hate. Umm.. I don't think I've shaved them since my Mexico trip in June. Thankfully, I'm not particularly hairy. Is that tmi?
  3. On nights when I have a hard time falling asleep, I usually put on a pair of socks and then I'm knocked out.
  4. I've fallen down stairs at multiple clubs in Seattle and I wasn't drunk - just clumsy.
  5. My first job was scooping ice cream at Baskin Robbins.

  6. I played the Chinese zither for about 10 years. I'm a little guilty that I've given it up. I should pull it out again and see if I remember anything!
  7. I don't like crunchy stuff in my food e.g. nuts, croutons, chocolate chips (unless it's a cookie...) In fact, I really don't like mixing textures in my mouth.
  8. My dad bought me a brand new 5-speed VW Jetta when I started college. It sat in the garage for nearly a month because I didn't know how to stick shift yet. And then when I took it out with my brother, I hit a bus.
  9. I faint. Literally. My doctor thinks it's because of low blood pressure. I think it's because I want all eyes on me. Just kidding! But I have fainted 5-6 times in the last several years.
  10. I love back to school shopping even though I haven't been in school for ohhh.. 9 years.. Come September, I always hit up Target for fun notebooks and pens. I like Sanrio notebooks too!
  11. I have to force myself to drink water while at work otherwise I'll go the entire day being dehydrated. It's not that I don't like drinking, I just don't like going to the bathroom. When I was in school, I'd hold it until I got home because I didn't like the bathrooms at school.
  12. Speaking of bathrooms: I was in the WC one night at a certain restaurant. The bathroom was soooo weird. It was one of those single bathrooms where you have to lock the main door but this bathroom had two toilets but no partition between them.. Anyway, I THOUGHT I locked the door but apparently not all the way. Next thing you know this woman barges in while I'm using the loo! I totally yelped! And as she was about to excuse herself from the bathroom, she notices the second toilet and asks if I minded that she came in! She then proceeded to lock the door once more and take off her pants and use the other toilet right next to me!! WTH! "Oh it's ok.. It's just you and me.." then she goes on to say how weird that there's no wall between us. Did I mention that I'm still peeing?? I finish quickly and hop up to wash my hands. Then I ask her if she minded if I opened the door to leave (I didn't exactly want to stay in there while she was doing her thing.) "Sure! Go right ahead!"
  13. Ok.. this is too hard. I owe you four more random facts about me. And I'm too lazy to tag people. So if you read this. You're it!

i'll be loving you FOOOREEEEEVER!!!

*ahem*

Why yes I was at the NKOTB concert yesterday.

I honestly wasn't expecting to go as crazy as I did, but girrrrrl... I was screaming like a 12-year-old at a New Kids on the Block concert.

And this was the best part.

I remember when going bananas when Jordan did this at the Step by Step concert too. He's dreamy. And I know he was totally thinking of me as he sang.

The women around us obviously weren't truly dedicated fans because they kept looking at us funny when we knew every. single. word. to every. single. song. I'm almost embarrassed to admit how hystical I got at the end. But I don't embarrass easily.

NKOTB FOREVER.

cougar attack!

Okay, here's a little update about my cutie patootie swim instructor.

He missed lessons yesterday, so conversation of course veered to him. It turns out all the ladies in my class have been drooling over him! Hahaha. I guess it's kinda obvious though because as soon as he shows up, we turn into a group of giggling school girls.

After much discussion, another gal shows up and informs us that he was out because he had to do some freshman orientation for college. I hope he's 18.

ROWR.

At least the other gals in class are older than I am! Whew. I'm only 12-13 years his senior.

BOOOOOOO!

i think i need cpr

* Note to Hunny Bunny - stop reading NOW.

As you all know, I've been in my second session of adult swimming lessons. It's been going pretty well. Well it turns out that our female instructor was just subbing for the week. Our real instructor is a guy.

And holy crap what a guy! He's soooooo hot! *sigh* Perfect swimmer's body.. Dreamy blue eyes.. ARGH!

I'm such a cougar. ROWR! I'm sure this guy is like 17 years old and thinks I'm this crazy old lady who's so scared of the water.

As an instructor, he's no joke. He had us working on doing the butterfly. Umm. I still don't have the breast stroke down yet! And then he made us practice doing front flips so we don't have to stop when we're doing laps. Dude, I got so much water up my nose I thought my brain was going to burst! Oh, and then he decides it's high time we start diving into the deep end!

He's lucky he's hot. Otherwise I would've said no.

fat floats II

I just started the second session of my adult swim lessons. Apparently, I did not learn to swim in the last session.

Actually, I'm okay. I'm just not sure I'm ready to jump into the ocean without my floaties! Besides, I could use some regularly scheduled exercise in my life. No excuses for not going, right?

Last session, I was stuck in a class with all men - weird, unsociable, hairy, Speedo-clad men. I guess I learned a lot more then, since there were no *ahem* distractions. I was surprised to find that this session is for the ladies! I already found a new bestie! She's the only one who chats and I helped her put her swim cap on. (Can't go damaging my hair, especially since I plan on trying one of TenPachi's texture perms next month!)

Anyhoo, there's this one girl in the class.. She's kinda umm.. big..ish.. And not a very strong swimmer. And partially blind.. So we were taking turns doing the back stroke down the pool. She went first. Then me. I guess I caught up to her because next thing you know I'm practically knocked out by what I thought were the buoys between the lanes. Alas, they were big boobs that I slammed into! Hello!? Stay in your lane! And by all means, please don't stop in the middle of a lap!

Honestly, that was a little too up-close-and-personal. Seriously.

*shudder*

you sexy thang

I'm wearing this cream colored Hanii-Y dress that I've had for a while. My walk to the office was rather brisk so I got a little hot and had to take off my cardigan. Sitting at my desk, I suddenly feel a breeze - on my stomach.

Yep. Once again I forgot to zip the side up and was basically flashing the intern next to me. Good thing he thinks I'm old and probably didn't notice. D'oh! Sadly, this isn't the first time. Come to think of it, I forgot to zip up the first time I wore this dress too. I suck. I certainly didn't learn my lesson.

It may be a sign that I should retire this dress. What do you think?

even better

NKOTB in Seattle.. November 22! See you there!

Thanks Maria!

dedicated

I don't think I'm dedicated to NKOTB enough. I'm a fraud! I saw part of their performance of their first single "Summertime" and I wasn't impressed. Could it be that I don't love Jordan and Joey any more?

*smack, smack*

What am I saying?? Marry me Joey! I LOOOOOOVE YOOOOOUUUU!

I think it's the fact that all the fans were old ladies wearing mom jeans. I just don't want me to be lumped into that group of hags trying to recapture their youth... icky.

fat floats

I'm starting my intermediate adult swimming lessons today. I'm a little bit nervous. I always get nervous when I'm in the pool. I suppose that's why I'm taking lessons! Anyway, I bought a swim cap this time. My lessons are twice a week and I really don't want the chlorine wreaking havoc on my hair.

My beginner's class was pretty lame. I took lessons when I was a kid so I kinda know the basics, I just need help with side breathing. The other students in the class had no idea what they were doing. Luckily, the instructor was keen enough to give me some simple instructions to practice on my own while the geezers were learning how to blow bubbles. Seriously. That's what they were doing.

I hope I have a different instructor this time too. He was really nice but distracting at the same time - very cute. I knew he was young, but I didn't realize just how young. But during the second to last class, he told us that he wouldn't make it to the last class because of a test. I thought that maybe he had an exam or something in college.. Oh how wrong I was!

He was taking the SATs! Holy crap! I'm such a cougar! I thought he was at least 20 or so, but nope. He was probably only 17. *sigh*

If he asked me to his prom, I'd probably go. Hahahaha! I joke, I joke! Sorta.

Wish me luck so I don't drown!

red in the face

I think I'm finally used to wearing my new-ish red lipstick... I bought MAC's Russian Red a few weeks ago and have only worn it a few times.

I'm used to wearing nude/sheer glosses so I don't need to worry about making a mess. But the first time I wore the red was a disaster! I forgot I had to be more cautious and ending up eating some nuts from my hand. Next thing you know, my knuckles are all blotchy and red. Hmm.. What is that? Holy crap! It's my lipstick!

There was lipstick smudged all over my face and teeth.. Did I mention I was at work? Oh and then I met a girl friend for lunch. I tried to be even more careful. Alas, I end up with lipstick on my nose.

But I get it now! Yay for ooh la la lips! I don't usually like matte lipsticks because it feels so dry, but I don't mind this one. What's great about it is that it doesn't travel into the creases around my lips like most other high-shine reds do.

Too bad hunny bunny refuses smoochies when I look so smoochable. I guess he doesn't want to be red in the face either.

the right stuff

Admit it! You're excited that NKOTB is back!

I watched a clip from the Today show and while I'll always be a fan of Jordan and Joey, can I just say that Donnie was lookin' a little bit hot? Gone are the mullet and acid wash jeans. In the last 20 years, he's cleaned up well!

And Danny? I guess he looks the same - same scary-big smile. *shudder*

Then there's Jon. Poor guy. He just looks beat down. The other guys probably had to drag his arse out of the nursing home to do this. Hahaha. I kid, I kid. I mean, you know he is a few years older and all.

None of this matters though, because I'll be the first in line to get tickets to their tour. Hopefully, it won't be at that back alley barn where Jordan performed a few years ago. Yeah, you know I was there. Sadly, all the cutie girls turned into fatties and the former 10-piece band turned into a sad little white-boy dj wearing a baseball cap that said $G~Money$. Okay, I made up the last part, you know what I mean!

back to the old country

I let Stinko decide where we would have dinner on Saturday night. Remind me never to do that again.

Not only did I have to stand in line for 20 minutes with a bunch of skanky people, Stinko conveniently forgot his wallet so I had to pay! The fun doesn't end there. The hostess seated us right by the window! Thank goodness no one I knew walked by to witness my shame.

The fried chicken looked edible so I grabbed a piece of that but as soon as I sliced into it, a fountain of grease burst out and nearly blinded me. Luckily - and I use this term loosely, it was also steak night. I doused the rubber meat with generic A-1 sauce and didn't die of food poisoning. I'm stickin' with the mashed potatoes and corn - not that there ever be a next time.

i'll take two

Ever since I got back from Paris, I've been dreaming about the new Louis Vuitton Epi colors at Eluxury.

I absolutely adore that dark purple color. Wouldn't you be willing to chew off your bf's toes nails for one of these bags? For more backstory..

Thursday, February 28, 2008

oh the shame

My bf said he would buy me the Louis Vuitton wallet I've been
coveting. But only if I bit his toe nails off.

Sadly, I'd probably do it had he not quickly said "just kidding!"

Dang. I'm truly a Louis whore.

i can do it too

Here's Lily Allen sticking her fist in her mouth..

I can do it too! And I can get way past my knuckles. Amateur. (Ask me to show you when I'm super drunk... But watch out. I might barf on you.)

I won't post a picture of myself here, but I'm sure there's one floating around online.

at least they were clean

So I pulled me jeans out of the laundry this morning.. All fresh and clean.

Cut to 10:45 am at work - as I'm walking to water fountain to get some water for my plants, something starts creeping down my leg. What is that? Why, it's a pair of PANTIES! It totally came out of my pants! No one saw.. I hope.

D'oh!
