more ways to save!

Allegedly theoutnet is the outlet site for net-a-porter. Word on the street is that it'll be like gilt, but I'm not 100% positive. They're not open yet, just accepting email addresses.

I just signed up! Don't blame me if you go bananas.

Have a great weekend my lovelies!

Smoochies.

damage control

Yes. I did some damage this weekend because obviously I have zero control over my wallet. In my defense though, it was 60% off!

So here it is! The Balenciaga lamb cutout bag! I love that I can wear it three different ways! It's like I got three bags for the price of one! Or as I like to say, I got two bags for free!

I'd be eyeing for several months now, but I had a feeling that since it wasn't one of the it bags, it would go on sale. Besides, I'm in no position to drop $2K on a bag.

When it was 40% off, I was really tempted to pick it up then, but decided to wait it out. Leave it up to fate, if you will.

Good thing I did!

I nearly had a meltdown though because the Lanvin suede hobo that I'd been coveting as well went down to 60% off too! But for practical and financial reasons, I chose the Balenciaga.

I still love that bag and if anyone wants to splurge (read: HB) on my Christmas present, I would be absolutely thrilled.

Again, my apologies for my ghetto photos. I'm such a lazy blogger!

I spy: For those of you with a keen eye, you may have noticed that I'm wearing a certain pair of grey Prada peeptoes in one of the photos. More on that later!

shhhhhh.....

What I'm about to show is strictly confidential. This conversation never happened. And if you bring it up with Hunny Bunny, I'll deny everything.

I had a secret rendezvous at Nordstrom with my homegirl Coco and she looked amazing. Don't you agree? Just as effortlessly chic as usual.

It's a good thing I picked up that contracting position because all those paychecks seem to be going towards my not-supposed-to-be-shopping shopping.

Now I need to figure out when to debut these beauties because they just can't be presented with out some fanfare. Perhaps the office holiday party. Perhaps Thanksgiving dinner even though shoes come off at Gramma's. I hope my recent Marc by Marc Jacobs splurge arrives soon. Am thinking the skirt might be the perfect thing.

supergirl

Every superhero should have a cape. Mine just happens to be a light grey Loeffler Randall one on sale at Nordstrom!
There aren't enough fashionable superheroes out there.

LRB's here to save the day!

Or at least save 40% off the regular price. Did you buy anything at the Nordstrom Half Yearly sale? I checked out the shoes but wasn't overly impressed with their designer selection.

I did, however, presale this Elizabeth & James blazer too. I guess it's not going on sale until next Tuesday. Weird, right? Anysale, it was 60% off and I could use a new blazer. I like how the sleeves are ruched up and it's kinda got a tuxedo feel to it. Not really sure how I'm going to style it yet, but it definitely has potential.

invite me

I need to find a party or wedding to attend so I can justify buying this lovely Rebecca Taylor dress!

The ruffles, the back, the ombre... It's just all too perfect. And it's on sale! *sigh* And I'm not supposed to buy anything.

What's coming up next? Oooh.. I just bought tix to San Francisco in October for a family reunion of sorts. It's my gramma's sister's (grand-aunt?) 70th bday!

Actually, it's going to be my bday too! The big 3.1 for me. Eep! (According to my darling Diabolina, 3.1 Phillip Lim is a wink to his age when he started his line! Love the trivia. Hmmm. Should I get a new Phillip dress instead??)

Speaking of San Francisco, it's been years since I was last there. Where are the good places to shop? I'll be doing a lot of family stuff but am hoping to slip away and do some fashion stuff!

Send me your tips and ideas for unique shops and fabulous finds! Would love to hear from you!

she got it from her mama

As I ruefully perused the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale (again!) with mommy looking over my shoulder, I pointed out the adorable Ugg boots and said that if I were to buy anything during the sale, it would be those!

Mommy dearest said that I must get them! She thought they were as adorable as I did and said I could never go wrong with such comfy shoes. Besides, I could always return them if I changed my mind but if they sold out, then I'd be kicking myself. Hmmm. She does have a point.

Honestly, who am I to question her? She's so much more worldly and wise than I.

boo!

This is what happens when I put myself on shopping restriction!

Promesse is having their sale now and hello? Their jeans are buy one get one free! Run to Kirkland girls!

The rest of the goods are on sale between 30-50% off. And some of the past season clearance items are up to 90% off!! They're practically giving stuff away!

Go and buy stuff and then tell me what you buy in detail.. Please?

Illi in South Lake Union is also having their sale! Everything is 50-70% off!

LuvCharlie and Intermix have new markdowns too!

Must.. resist.

definitely not

Did you get your Nordstrom Anniversary Sale catalogue yet?

I know I'm soooo not supposed to buy anything and I'm really going to try to be good-ish.

I'm definitely not going to schedule an appointment so I can preview (and PRESALE) all the wonderful fall clothes. And I'm definitely not going to look at the famous maker dress that's pictured. And I'm definitely not going to look at those knitted UGG boots. And I'm definitely not going to see what kind of fabulous makeup collections are available. And I'm definitely not going to take advantage of the double points promotion.

I was really good at last year's sale. I didn't take the day off for the sale and I only bought one Dior makeup palette and a giant bottle of Philosophy's Purity Made Simple. I gotta remind myself that everything is only 40% off. I need at least 50% off to make it justifiable!

Besides, I hate walking down the street seeing five girls wearing the same outfit as me! Yes. I'll keep telling myself that this sale is overrated. Uh huh. Yep.

practically stealing!

Designer bags are going to be 60% off starting tomorrow at Nordstrom. They're doing presales right now! Go, go, GOOOOO!

I was looking at this lovely Jimmy Choo Malena bag that I hadn't seen on sale before (and I check weekly!) and commented about it to the sales gal and she was like, "Oh we have a ton of different bags just sitting in the back."

Don't you think it's kinda unheard of to find a black leather bag on sale for 60% off? Hello, McFly? When was the last time you found a decently sized bag for under $1K?

Anyway, I surmised that they're trying make it seem like there's only a small selection of bags left over so there's more of a frenzy. But in fact, they just keep replenishing from the back! I'm on to you Uncle Nordies! Watch out!

Hmmm.. Maybe it's just the Seattle store where there aren't as many designer bag hoarders like me around!

self-control

I deserve a round of applause. *clap clap clap*

One of my fave boutiques started their Spring/Summer sale yesterday and they had two racks of clothes marked down to $50 - pretty much 90-95% off! That's crazy right?

I tried on a few dresses and a leopard print blazer (I know, I know. Leopard? It was so cheap, I had to at least try it on!) In the end, I didn't buy anything. I would've been buying it soley because it was cheap and not because I was crazy about it.

Gawd, when did I become so rational? Probably because I still haven't bought the silver-y cream 3.1 Phillip Lim dress that I've been drooling over.

let's wait awhile

Remember that Janet song? Love it..

Anyway, I'm sooooo glad I waited on buying the 3.1 Phillip Lim dress that was on sale for 50% off at Ron Herman. I know that their sales are progressive so I decided to wait it out.

And good thing I did! It just went down to 65% off! Yippeee! (Too bad it wasn't free shipping too! $12! Yikes.) I only hope I got the right size because it's a final sale. Damn these buff arms!

*pant, pant* I'm so excited right now! I could just burst!

not my fault

Everytime my friend comes home (she works in Japan) for a visit, she makes me want to shop and buy fancy things that I can't afford. It's not her fault. It's all me. I covet everything she has! I told her that if she ever has a garage sale, to please put me at the top of her list.

Since she's not having a blowout sale anytime soon, I decided to do a little online window shopping. I really love the color of that 3.1 Phillip Lim dress.. And I do love the Jimmy Choo Mahala bag. They're both on sale.. I'm waiting for them to get marked down once more. *wink*

Kenneth Cole at ShopStyle

But you'll be so proud to know that I did not buy the Zac Posen dress I found at the Rack yesterday. It's gorgeous, but do I need it? No. Even though it was orig. $1675, marked down to $449 with an additional 40% off! Wait a minute. Maybe I should get it! Dammit. I may have just talked myself into it.

*spank*

Bad.

I think I'll hold out for the Phillip Lim dress. It's more my style. hohum...

i need steak

Whenever I'm PMSing, I totally crave steak. I also get seriously grumpy. And the only way to aleviate the grump is shopping. (That's my story and I'm stickin' to it!)

My brother's friend Saki just opened up a cute little boutique on 1st and Columbia, in Downtown Seattle, called Shaula. They specialize in affordable (most items I saw were under $100) Japanese designers. I found tons of adorable tunic tops - both romantic and edgy styles. I hope Saki decides to throw a grand opening soiree. I think her clothes would appeal to a lot of the local fashionistas in search of unique, nearly-one-of-a-kind clothing. (She stocks only 2-3 pieces of any one item and gets new shipments weekly!)

The biggest drawback of the merchandise is that most of it is tailored towards skinny girls and only come in one size. If you've got big arms, girl, you might not want to try that top on. Ouch!

I did pick up this cute, drapey vest though. My photo really doesn't do it justice. It's kinda boho and elegant at the same time. The vest came with a small pin to fasten it in different styles. But I have this floral pin that got at a St. John fashion show a little while ago that I think I'll use instead.

Yes, I know. St. John?? It was a benefit fashion show hosted by Nordstrom. A reporter friend of mine invited me and I couldn't say no! Anyway, the flower pin is quite cute and really, attending any fashion show is always fun!

After Shaula, my apetite for shopping was not yet satiated. I ended up going to a boutique near my house and finding a couple clearance items that I don't feel guilty for buying! They were both 85% off.. I practically got them for free!

I love how comfy this striped top is by Les Chemins Blanc. I love anything French!

I also picked up this great top by Samantha Treacy. It'll be perfect for Mexico in three weeks! (I keep using Mexico as an excuse to buy stuff even though we're only going to be there for a few days. I don't think I'll be able to wear all the stuff I've been alotting for the trip! D'oh!)

moment of madness

or what Miss Diabolina likes to call a "Shopping Frenzy."

I just took a long break and walked over to the Gap (I know! Again??) I can't help it! It's a block away! (And of course I'm wearing a top from them today! I hate walking into the store wearing something I bought from there. Is that weird? For some reason, I don't want them to know I shop there regularly.)

So I ended up picking up one of those white shirts designed by 3.1 Phillip Lim. It was only $16, from $78! How could I not? And then I picked up this little skirt that I've been wanting forever! It was on sale too and I just really wanted to buy it. Dammit.

I guess I didn't do too much damage. I didn't have enough time to try the shirt on, so who knows. Maybe I'll hate it and then have to return it.

wish me luck and patience

I've been craving this Jimmy Choo Mia bag in all black - not that weird burnt color. It's on sale at Nordstrom right now for $975, originally $1625.

I totally can't buy another bag this year, especially with my Lanvin and Chloe barely out of their dust bags... But oh how I covet this Jimmy Choo! I'm hoping that no one else likes it and that it will be marked down to 60% off.

I really shouldn't be blogging about it thus advertising it as a drool worthy bag. I shouldn't be giving you ballers out there a chance to buy it from right under my nose. Maybe I'm unconciously trying to sabotage myself and secretly wishing that someone else buys it so I don't have any further temptation.

Oh who am I kidding? I want it. And if I find out that you bought it, I'm gonna cut you. "Gimme my bag!"

The internal battle rages on.

fun at the gap

While in Spokane, we made a pit stop at the Gap because I wanted to see what they had marked down. I picked up a couple cute/cheap tops! I got the paisley version of tank and a grey version of the sweatshirt.

I love both of them because they were only $17 each! How fun is that? I totally waited for the paisley top to go down more than 50%. Gawd, when did I ever get so patient? But as I was surfing the Gap site for these pix, I totally saw some other stuff I want to get! Bad girl.

I'm actually wearing the paisley top today. I took off the matching tie and added a belt and cinched around the waist. Quite cute, if I do say so myself!

You'll be proud to know that I deleted all those "Sale!!!!" emails from Bergdorfs, Neimans and Barneys.

*clap clap clap*

splendiferous

More shopping!
