Eeks! The first of three H&M stores in the Seattle area opens in a couple weeks during Westfield Southcenter's grand re-opening - July 25th to be exact. It'd be totally crazy for me to take th day off to go shop, right?

And it'll probably be even more crazy because XXI Forever is opening that day too! (They already have a small Forever 21 store there, I wonder how that's gonna work...)

Speaking of XXI Forever, I finally made it to the new one at Northgate and it's as glorious as people have been telling me! It was so big, I was actually overwhelmed and couldn't buy anything! Actually, I felt bad because Hunny Bunny was sitting outside waiting for me, and I hate feeling hurried when I'm shopping so I ended up leaving.

*sigh* It's for the best though, isn't it? I have to at least try to make it a couple weeks without buying anything.

According to The Seattle Times, the H&M stores are coming along quite nicely.

Southcenter: Summer '08
U-Village & Downtown: Fall '08

I'm totally taking a half day when the Downtown one opens. It's right across the street from work! Yay!!!

H&M has teamed up with former Comme des Garcons designer Rei Kawakubo for an upcoming collection. How exciting! The designs of Comme des Garcons aren't alway that palatable for us normal folk but maybe they'll tone it down a bit to fit in with H&M.

November? Hopefully the one across the street from my office will be open by then!

I knew about the UVill one and I heard rumors of the Southcenter one... But now there's gonna be on in Downtown! Yippeeee! I where on Pike... Ross? Hmmm.

H&M TO ARRIVE IN THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST FALL 2008
First three H&M store locations to open in Seattle

H&M, Hennes & Mauritz, the design-driven clothing retailer known for quality high fashion style at affordable prices, announces its expansion into the Pacific Northwest region with three store locations opening in Seattle during fall, 2008.

H&M believes strongly in the Seattle market and is proud to be a part of this growing epicenter of trendsetting consumers. The new stores will be located in very distinct, popular shopping destinations within the Emerald City including University Village, Westfield Southcenter, and a downtown location on Pike Street, giving H&M the ability to serve a variety of customers in this diverse market.

The new two-level store location in the University Village lifestyle center, near the University of Washington, will measure approximately 19,000 square-feet giving students, and everyone who is interested in fashion, access to affordable and stylish trends.

H&M Westfield Southcenter will complement the revitalization of this super-regional mall with approximately 25,000 square-feet and two floors of shopping for the entire family.

A third store, located on tourist-favored Pike Street, will offer 16,000 square-feet of great fashion finds for the urban shopper.

The U.S. has been one of H&M’s most important expansion markets since the company’s New York debut seven years ago. There are currently 146 H&M stores in the U.S. and a total of around 1,500 stores in 28 countries around the world.
