tardy for the party

Scottsdale was ah-mazing. My bff and I arrived a day earlier than the rest of the girls and just enjoyed a day of shopping, followed by an intense yoga class for me and a relaxing facial for her at the Phoenician Resort.

Another girlfriend arrived from LA that evening and we had a yummy dinner at Cowboy Ciao, where we also enjoyed a wine flight of bubbly. I think I enjoyed it too much because I damn near passed out. I blame my low blood pressure. Uh huh. Yup.

The next morning, two of my cousins arrived and we had brunch at the pool. (C/D-list Celebrity siting: Fantasia!)

Later, we check in to the W Hotel where we spent the rest of the weekend. That's also when we found out it was their 1-year anniversary and they were having a huge party - and we were all invited!

The theme was Alice in Wonderlust. ADORE! (D-list Celebrity siting: Malcolm from Malcolm in the Middle!)

Mushrooms!

We had an amazing time and even got little Bliss spa swag bags! The next day, we were all just a tad hungover... At least I was! (Lightweight!)

Lounged at the pool and took turns going to the Bliss Spa for our appointments. Just what the doctor ordered. After a day of relaxation, we had dinner at Mastro's steakhouse.

That place is reason enough for us to go back! Drool....

Following dinner, and unbeknownst to me, the girls had another treat up their sleeves.. A horrible, horrible treat.

A male nudey bar! EWWWWWWWWWWWW!

The icky boys got full on nekkid! *shudder*

There were twins workin' the pole when we walked in and later there was a guy wearing nothing but black socks doing handstands!

Needless to say, we left pretty quickly. And we do not have any photos.

I can't wait to be married.

first chance at last chance

For years I heard rumors about this mythical Rack for the Rack in Scottsdale, called Last Chance. I thought it was another desert mirage.

Ladies, let me assure you that it's the real deal. All the rejects from the Rack, all the worn/damaged/returned merchandise from the full line stores make there way to Last Chance - a fitting name for the doomed.

I suppose if you had the time, and you went often, you would be able to find some gems. But for those of us in a hurry, it was overwhelming and a little bit disturbing. A couple of my girlfriends couldn't stand the germiness of handling used merchandise so they waited outside.

The rest of us scoured the haystack in hopes of finding that needle.

I scored with this pristine, oversized clutch by Longchamp. The rest of the bags and wallets were majorly damaged.

Mango snagged these amazing sky-high marc jacobs shoeties in black and Veen scored some olive Pierre Hardy suede peep toes. Damn their small feet!

i'm so depressed...

PFFFFFT.

Far from it! I know that's what some of y'all are thinking and I totally appreciate your concern! In fact, I love you for it! Seriously. The number of you who've been hassling me, I mean, checking in on me... It really means a lot.

And you're not the only one who felt sorry for me! Daddy (real, not sugar) felt so sorry for me that he treated me to my first trip to Hawaii! A mini family vacay before the wedding.

It was perfect!
We visited the Dole Pineapple Plantation. I never knew how cute pineapple plants were! Who else thought pineapples grew on trees?! I was so surprised to see these little bushes on the ground topped with a pineapple!

Too. Cute.

Then there was a the food. Ono's, Rainbow's, Ted's, Giovanni's....
I ate myself silly! My parents are still raving about the shrimp truck. (BTW, if you go, see if you can find where I signed LOOKRICHBITCH! Here's a hint, it's on the fence where the cars are parked!)

I'm gonna try to recreate the shrimp scampi at home soon. I'll tell you how it goes.

One of the highlights of our trip was
swimming with wild dolphins and sea turtles! My 13-year-old niece and I took a 4-hour cruise on the west side of Oahu. There were no guarantees about actually swimming with dolphins because they're, you know, wild. I was just hoping to at least seem some from the boat.

It took us a while to find them in the water (basically the boat drops you off in the ocean and they tell you what direction to swim and hopefully you find the dolphins!) We were really fortunate that day because the dolphins were extremely friendly and playful. They were jumping and flipping in the air as soon as we arrived.

After we slid into the water, I felt like we had been swimming for the longest time then all of a sudden we were surrounded by them! There were at least three baby ones too (the lighter dolphin in the photo was a baby)! They swam next to us and below us. My heart was pounding with excitement. I wanted to stay out there all day!

That is until one of them started pooping. No really. Actual poop. As in, all of a sudden there were a stream of browness. Ick.

Truly one of the best experiences in my life and I can't wait to do it again. It was that amazing. And no, I wasn't scared at all. *dreamy*

Since I'm still working only part time (and collecting unemployment!) I really couldn't take advantage of the low sales tax in Hawaii. But it sure was nice to shop vicariously through my mommy! Stay tuned.

I'm really just trying to enjoy the rest of my summer. I've been working a couple days a week, taking yoga classes, working out, and really just doing my own thing - trying not to watch too much tv, though I've really gotten into watch The Tudors.

I think Hunny Bunny is a little anxious for me to start working again but I'm not in a hurry. Just a little longer, okay?

...and all i got was crabs..

Spent a quick weekend in San Francisco with a few of the girls. Nothing was on sale so we pretty much just ate our way around town. Actually, we didn't even make it that far.. We ate at Michael Mina, which was in The Westin St. Francis where we stayed! Made it easier for the bell staff to roll us back to our room.

We started with a complimentary appetizer trio, nearly everything was served as a trio! (My apologies for the photo quality. I just used my iPhone... Didn't want to be a complete dorkus-malorkus and disturb the others enjoying their dinner!)

shrimp, a fish fritter and a stacked tuna nicoise salad bite

Dungeness Crab ~ Local and Seasonal
• Poached Claws, Endive, Aïoli
• Roasted Whole Leg, Beurre Blanc, Espelette
• Cioppino, Backfin Meat, Roasted Peppers

I was pretty much full at this point and we were barely even into the meal! The crab was so heavenly. There were three poached claws, each topped with a different aioli. A trio in a trio!

Pasta ~ Braise and Confit
• Fettuccini, Rabbit, English Peas
• Ravioli, Duck Leg, Radicchio
• Orecchiette, Pork Short Rib, Fava Beans

The pork short rib was melt in your mouth good.

Brandt Farm Beef ~ Spring Vegetables
• Filet Mignon, Sacramento Delta Green Asparagus, Sauce
Béarnaise
• Dry Aged Rib Eye, Wilted Spinach, Morel Jus
• Braised Trio, Young Leeks, Horseradish Vinaigrette

The Béarnaise sauce was dreamy. And the rib eye? Fuhgettaboutit. I heart morels! And what's this? Another trio? Count me in. This time it was tongue, cheek and... something else delicious. I can't remember!

Maine Lobster Pot Pie
• Brandied Lobster Cream, Seasonal Vegetables

Ah-mazing. Whole lobster with the creamiest, silkiest sauce. I could've bathed in it. Seriously. I want to. Getting naked now.

California Squab ~ “Peking” and Citrus
• Smoked Breast, Pixie Tangerine, Pea Leaves
• Consommé, Poached Breast, Shiitake Dumpling
• Foie Gras, Steamed Buns, Pickled Tokyo Turnips

Mmm... What's not to love about little birds? I could've eaten that foie gras all night, while sitting in a tub of lobster sauce.

Cheeses ~ Goat, Sheep, Cow
• Minuet, Pear Purée, Hazelnuts
• Pecorino Ginepro, Port Cherries, Juniper Balsamic Vinegar
• Pianoforte, Porcini Syrup, Puffed Wild Rice

I was soooo stuffed by this point, I could barely eat the cheese. The waitress mentioned that they were all local cheese made by an artisan near Napa. And then something about them being named after musical terms and being available at some rainbow grocer's.

Citrus ~ Herbs
• Meyer Lemon Marmalade, Basil Financier, Huckleberry
• Lime Curd, Shiso Meringue, Sablé Breton
• Grapefruit Gelée, Tarragon Ice Cream, Masago Arame

This was the only thing we didn't really care for. I guess our palates aren't so sophisticated because the combination of herb and citrus flavors weren't exactly harmonious.

Chocolate ~ Exotic
• White Chocolate Panna Cotta, Passion Fruit, Almond Crumble
• German Chocolate, Coconut Espuma, Candied Pecans
• Bittersweet Chocolate Cream, Rum Bananas, Macadamia Nut

Rich, dark, bitter.. Just how I like my men.

Our only real complaint about the evening was that the sommolier was not very helpful. He didn't ask what we were eating, which is totally weird right? All he asked was what we liked to drink and then he proceeded to point to random wines in the wine list and just say, "This one is good... I like this one.. Or you could just get this one.."

He didn't once mention the flavors of the wine or anything!

Anyway, I just chose something and it was good.

Twelve hours later...

French toast with sliced strawberries and coconut cream

Stay tuned for more crab.

long weekend part iv - you win some, then you dim sum

Monday:

Woke up pretty early to start the long ride home. Got to Richmond just in time for lunch!

It's not a trip to B.C. if I don't get to stop at my favorite joint, Fisherman's Terrace. I always get a little overzealous when it comes to ordering dim sum - eyes are definitely bigger than my stomach!

At the top of the list was soup dumplings - filled with pork, fresh scallop and shark's fin in a rich and flavorful broth. I can eat these all m*thaf*ckin' day! They're so good they make me cuss.

And you can't have dim sum without have at least one variation of the shrimp dumpling - we had two! One had chives in it and the other had scallop with shrimp. Mmmmm...

Hunny Bunny and I ate a whole bunch of other stuff but I was too busy crammin' my face to bother taking any more pictures.

P.S. Will the lo fans please stop dousing everything in soy sauce?? Dim sum is not meant to be dipped in soy sauce. It's tasty enough as is. That is all.

long weekend part iii

Sunday:

The rest of the group decided they wanted to get one more day of snowboarding in before the end of the weekend. Luckily, since I knew I would only be up for one day of riding and made plans to attend a yoga class and get a massage. Both were yummy and relaxing.

Sometimes I find spa massages a little too frou frou. Call me crazy but I like to be worked the hell out when I get a massage! This gal seriously knew what she was doing - none of that gentle, sweeping motion crap.

After stopping at Cows to get an ice cream cone, I made my way back to our condo. Bodies were sprawled out every which way. Everyone was exhausted though Hunny Bunny aka Mr. McBarfy was surprisingly alert so we decided to head out for dinner back in the Village.

Since the wait for a seat but 45 minutes away, we went down to the shops to see what they had available. Twenty minutes later, I was trying on this Burton Gore-Tex jacket. (I seem to always get caught up in blue whenever I look at new snowboarding gear. My old Roxy coat is also blue.)

Sadly, they didn't have my size.

Happily, I found it online for $50 cheaper when I got home. No tax. No shipping. No regrets.

Now I need new pants!

long weekend part ii - valentine's day

Saturday:
HB is not exactly known for his romantic gestures. This Valentine's Day was no different. Spent the early part of the day attempting to revive my inner shred Betty. Not so much. I'm just thankful that I'm not quite back to square one. In fact, I'm definitely back to where I ended the last time I rode. Muscle memory? Perhaps. Refusing to let HB doubt my mad skills? Heck yeah.

Anyway, after several runs I wasn't falling. That much. Anymore. And by then HB was only yelling at me a little bit.

Not to be outdone by the morning's festivities, the rest of the day proved to be even more wondrous. During our stroll through Whistler Village, HB treated me to an artery clogging treat - poutine!

This mouthwatering load of smothered and covered goodness has truly mystical powers - I was in a daze after making mouth-love to fries covered in cheese curds and gravy and hot sauce.

Dinner was mostly uneventful. Because of V-day, all the Village restaurants were booked so we decided to stay in and make dinner in our condo. HB's bff's non-gf made a lovely roast that HB stole from me after I barely ate half.

All this was followed by a rousing game of Texas hold 'em. And lots and lots of drinking. Which led to this:

Not exactly HB's crowning moment.

He'll probably kill me after he realizes that I've exposed his weakest moment. D'oh! Not that he doesn't deserve to feel a little chagrin.. It's not like he didn't go barfing over the balcony. To be honest, I've never seen him that trashed before. And I never want to see it again. Icky.

P.S. At least he finally got his hair cut. I have no idea what his latest obsession with hobos is all about.

long weekend part i

Thursday:
Made Hunny Bunny promise that we would stop at the Lululemon outlet on the way to Vancouver. Promised that I wouldn't take too long. *fingers crossed*

Friday:
Late start to a long drive. Went on a last minute morning run with my dad. Had a little breakfast with the folks and then went to pick HB up.

Can you guess what I was doing during the car ride? Texting Mango to order sale items from eLuxury on my behalf! It was an additional 50% off the sale price after all... Not to mention she had an additional 25% off discount too!

For under $60, don't you think the JBrand Lovestory jeans are a must have?

And I kinda love these Y-3 flats. I need comfy shoes after buying all those high heels during the holidays! I'm all about balance.... D'oh.

Two hours later later we arrived at Lululemon heaven and I spend a short (or long depending on who you ask) hour deciding if I really need another yoga top and calling Mango to see if she also didn't need another yoga top. I finally concluded that no, I didn't need a new yoga top but that I did need a new running jacket, sports bra top and yoga pants!

All were 50% off or more. Natch.

Stopped at the Duty Free shop as we crossed the border to pick up some tax-free booze. That's when I realized they now carry Smashbox! I had to pick up their primer and fan brush.

We finally reached Richmond, B.C. for a comforting lunch of congee and noodle soup. I also grabbed some yummy snacks at the nearby bakery including my favorite pastry of them all - Hot Dog Buns!

I know, it sounds totally weird but it's sooooo good.

No more shopping for the rest of the drive because my iPhone doesn't work in the land of Canucks.

Oh Whistler, my dahling... Did you miss me? I missed you!

...to be continued...

whistle while you work

Hunny Bunny and I will be spending Presidents' Day/Valentine's weekend in Whistler. No, it won't be a romantic getaway for two - more like eight or nine people piled into a three bedroom townhouse. I. Can't. Wait.

(Did you miss the sarcasm?)

Okay, okay. I'll stop being a brat. Sheesh! I guess I'm just not that keen on spending a long weekend with my not-so-favorite people and their SOs, even though they're in our wedding. Isn't that bad? I really need to be a nicer person.

I'm not a particular fan of one particular friend of HB's. I find him rather condescending and a bit of a chauvanist. Mostly I try to avoid him for fear of offending him as much as he offends me. The other fellows are okay. They make me laugh.

As for the girls, well, I really don't know them. I suppose I haven't really made the effort. One acts a little ditzy.. I say act because I don't think she's actually a ditz. And I don't like girls who act dumb because they think it's cute. It's not. The other one, I might actually like her but haven't had the opportunity to talk to her without the ditz interjecting.

Enough of the complaining! Besides, maybe I'll have a change of heart during the trip and come home with some new BFFs. Here's to the eternally optimistic!

Speaking of optimism, being that this will be my first time up the slopes in three years, I'm pretty nervous. I'm actually only planning to spend a day up there. I don't think this old body can handle the punishment. I was never all that great of a snowboarder so I don't see myself keeping up with anyone.

I made HB promise that he'd stay with me at least part of the day until I'm back on my feet. I know that he'd rather be riding with the boys who are far more talented but having him around makes me a little more confident. I'm not sure what the skill level is for the girls but I don't want them to feel obligated to babysit me. I don't like being the one to slow people down. Somehow I don't feel quite as guilty when it comes to slowing HB down. D'oh! I joke! Not really.

Aside from bringing a book and my knitting, I've been looking for other ways to entertain myself while everyone else is playing in the snow and I found the Solarice Wellness Spa, which is located in the Village.

They have yoga classes and some delicious sounding spa treatments. After a day of pounding, I know that I'll be in need of some major pampering.

I'm trying to decide what treatments to get. It's a tad pricey and sometimes I'd rather spend my money on something tangible - like shoes. (Hopefully we'll have time to stop in Vancouver for a little shopping too! Or at the very least, some yummy dim sum!)

Now I need to get some new gear. I found my goggles and socks and long undies, but I think that's all I have! Need pants and possibly a coat and some mittens. And maybe even a pair of Hunter boots for trekking around the Village!

3.1

I know you've been missing me. So in honor of the *ahem 6th anniversary of my 25th birthday, I will share my least fashionable moment (and most touristy!) during my trip to San Francisco.

Update: I had sent this post in via email and not all of it showed up. So here's the rest of it...

Yes, here I am modeling the latest in segway fashion. Notice I'm doing my best Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen signature prune lips in hopes that it'll add a little bit of the sexay I so desperately need.

I'll be the first to admit that riding the segway was sooooooo fun! Totally worth looking like a trash collector. (We rode by a guy who was actually pushing around the trash can wearing the EXACT vest. Sad!)

out of it and out of here

I must apologize for being completely out of it this week. Have had a lot on my mind and haven't been my usual hyper consumer. Yep. That's right. Shopping has not been of interest to me.

But that's all about to change!

Finally heading to San Franciscos on Saturday ayem for that family reunion/birthday party that I mentioned months ago. And I. Can't. Wait.

Sure, I'll be trapped in a room with my mother for the duration, but at least there will be shopping (and hopefully a mini-bar or even a full-sized bar) nearby.

In the meantime, I still need to pack. I have no idea what I'm going to wear and I kinda hate having to decide days in advance. I need options. But I'm only planning to bring a carry-on so I need to be very selective. Of course if I don't bring enough, there's always an excuse to go buy something. Not that I ever need an excuse.

muy caliente

*Sorry it took so long to write about my trip! I'm pretty lazy about uploading pix. Better late than never right?

We woke up at the un-fashionista-ly hour of 4:30 am to catch our early flight to Cabo. Can't believe I had the sense to actually apply some eyeliner and mascara.

Had a loooong layover at LAX.

I hadn't been to LA in years and I guess I didn't remember what a dump LAX is. Seriously. The shuttle we had to ride between airlines was so sketchy and the airport bathrooms? *shudder* Anyway, after a couple hours of anticipation, we boarded (is that a word??) our plane and by the time I wake from my nap, we'd arrived!

The weather was perfect for hitting the pool right before dinner! Look at just how amazing the pool is! There were swim-up bars at three of the six pools!

Did I mention that we were staying at an all-inclusive hotel? So everything was "free"! I can't tell you how nice it was to be able to just go out and not have to worry about watching my wallet at the pool!

Loved just being able to get food any time I fancied a bite!

Dinners at the hotel were so-so but lunches were absolutely yummy! One day we had the most delicious arroz con pollo and the next day was beef fajitas. I'm drooling just thinking about it!

And by the way, yes that is a huge arse cauldron of beef fajitas!

One night, we ventured out to the city and had dinner at the Crazy Lobster - and crazy it was! $18 for steak and lobster? I'll take two please!

After dinner we took a lovely stroll down to the marina. It really is gorgeous there, if you ignore the slumminess. D'oh.

And being that we're basically a couple of old fogies, we decided it wasn't in our best interest to partake in the festivities at Cabo Wabo and Gigglin' Marlin.

(I'd gone to a bachelorette party several years ago, and I can attest to never wanting to relive those cage-dancing nights.)

Back at the hotel, they had tons of activities during the day. I decided to partake in water aerobics. Little did I know that "water aerobics" is actually just an allotted time for fat people to play in the pool!

Hunny Bunny, whom is usually quite against any sort of participation, even joined in a match of water polo! Oh what a little bit of sun will do to a grouch!

The rest of the trip was taken up by naps in the sun and naps in the shade.

I can't wait to go back!

back to blah

Dang. Cabo came and went fast. Now I feel like I have nothing else to look forward to for the rest of the summer. *sigh*

Oh woe is me! I want to go back.

Maybe I should go shopping to make myself feel better! It'll only be at F21, I swear! After my budget-breaking Jimmy Choo purchase, I've been put on a self-imposed shopping restriction until October..

Before you get your panties in a bunch, I'm still allowed to shop (because I would be setting myself up for failure to even contemplate giving up shopping for that many months!) I'm only allowed to spend the cash that I make helping my folks out at their jewelry shop. Whew!

More vacay details to come! Just wanted to say hi to everyone! Missed you!

blow this popsicle joint

I'm nearly completely packed for the trip to Cabo. I have a few more items to figure out. I've decided not to bring my new Jimmy Choo bag even though I'm dying to have it slung on my arm for the next several days. Absense makes the heart grow fonder holds true for bags right?

Instead, I'm going to bring my tropically-inspired Louis Vuitton Soufflot bag. I've had this bag for probably 5 years now and it's still fun and classic! Isn't she pretty? I use it whenever I need a splash of color and who doesn't need more color in Mexico?

Maybe people will only see the brightness of the orange bag and won't notice the purple of my ankle. Yes, my previously fat ankle has turned into a black and blue mess of a thing. Did you just throw up a little bit in your mouth? I'm sorry.

I just needed to advertise the abuse that I've been suffering at the hands of Hunny Bunny.

Still so many things to do! I gotta go get a pedicure tonight and re-evaluate the clothes that I'm taking. I think I've over packed although since everything is thin and/or small, my carry-on is still partially empty. Should I bring more clothes??

Hasta luego, bitches! Will be taking lots of pictures and not thinking of you!

so i didn't totally hate it

Got back from Spo-Compton, as my hb so lovingly calls it, yesterday afternoon. It was an even longer drive because of the traffic between Cle Elum and Easton. At least my left arm is darker than my right arm now, since I was driving.

Thank goodness we left Momma and Papa Bunny's house pretty early. I wanted to make it home in time for my brother's yummy barbecue - steak, chicken wings, oysters, roast veg and shrimp! Delish! My contribution was a chimichurri sauce for the grilled meats. Super duper easy! You should try it:

1 small shallot
1 lemon (I had to add some white vinegar - my lemon was a tad bitter)
couple cloves of minced garlic
bunch of italian parsley
bunch of cilantro
evoo
red pepper flakes
salt/pepper

Pretty much just dump everything into a food processor and grind it up! Voila! Tasty steaky!

Anyway, back to Spokane (hopefully not for a long time!)

This time we decided to bring the little one - my family's doggy Napolean. This was his first trip away from home for so long. He was definitely homesick. But we had fun anyway! I took him for a long walk in the morning since for some reason I've been an early bird.

When HB finally woke up, we headed downtown and toured a park that has this humungous Radio Flyer red wagon. I've always wanted to climb on it, but HB hates looking like a tourist in his hometown. I'm like, uhh.. I AM a tourist! Hater. (I'll have to post the pix later.)

Nap-nap had such a good time at the park! He was running around like mad! And then we went and ruined the fun by leaving him at home with Momma Bunny. Poor little guy was so traumatized! He stayed on his bed (we brought it from home) and didn't come out of our room.

HB and I decided to go to the driving range and hit some balls. I swear, time goes by sooooo slowly in Spokane. It took less than an hour! So then we decided to play 9-holes at the local par-3. That usually takes a couple hours right? Nope. Spokane has this time warp where you try to find stuff to do to kill time and like only 30 minutes pass. I guess it doesn't help when I wake up at 7 am. Phooey.

And my back is kinda sore from the golfing because 1) I haven't played since last summer and 2) I'm just totally out of shape.

After golf, we hit up Northtown Mall. It's probably the lamest mall on the planet. I couldn't even bring myself to buy anything, and I LOOOOOVE buying things. Geez, can we finally get out of this god-forsaken mall? I wasn't even motivated enough to go into the Rack for fear that I'd be superbly disappointed with the lack of designer markdowns.

Ooooh, but good thing Momma Bunny was making dinner at home! She made a feast of salt/pepper crab! Oh my! I was sooooo tired after dinner. Who knew how exhausting eating crab could be?! It's too much work for too little meat.

Sadly, it was only like 7:30 pm and doggy seemed too traumatized from being abandoned in a stranger's house that it didn't look like we could sneak out and catch a movie as planned. We wound up watching PBS with Papa Bunny. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.

I went to bed at about 10:30 pm and woke up before 7 am. *sigh* Momma Bunny made up for it by having chow mein ready for an early lunch before our early departure! Yay!

memory lane

HB and I are heading back to his hometown for Memorial Weekend. I'm kinda dreading it. It's not that I mind hanging out with his parents or even the five hour drive - in fact, I quite enjoy the ride.. It's the sheer boredom of being in SPOKANE. Sure, it's like the third largest city in Washington State. But if you think about it, Seattle isn't really that big so if Spokane is the third... Well, you do the math.

(For the record, I was a bit perturbed that when HB's parents offered to come out here instead, HB told them not to as he wanted to go back there! WTH?! I could've stayed in civilization? Bah!)

Anyway, we head back east (oh how I wish I meant the Hamptons or Martha's Vineyard or just anywhere fabulous) a couple times a year and I've learned the importance of planning activities. The first couple times, we basically visited all the malls (shopping in Spokane is rather uninspiring), watched movies and ate at Carl's Jr. (one of the highlights of each trip! Mmmm.. Big Star - with nothing but meat and cheese.) Now I find parks or wineries - pretty much anything - that might be interesting. I also try to think of movies we want to watch. Thank goodness for iPhones! His parents don't have internet, or cable for that matter!

This time, I think I might want to continue the drive and head into Idaho and check out Coeur d'Alene. I hear it's quite lovely there. I also have a list of other wineries around town. And Indiana Jones will be playing too. And I do want to make a stop at Nordstrom, AE and Aveda. And of course Carl's Jr. And we're coming home early on Monday.

I will survive.

la cucaracha! ole! and grassy ass!

Uhh.. is that racist?

Cos we're going to MEXICO!! Hunny-bunny came through and bought our package to Cabo! We're going at the end of June so that means I have about three and a half months to stop eating.

soooo hungry....

Made in France

We finally made it to Paris. Budapest was lovely. We stayed at this
gorgeous hotel with a swanky spa/pool area. You know its nice when
kids aren't allowed! We sat in the hot tub every night.

The Gellert thermal baths were nice too. We went after a long day at
Castle Hill. We were enjoying ourselves so much that even the speedo
clad oldies didn't make us wanna barf.

Speaking of barf, our hotel in Vienna looked as if ikea yakked all
over the place. They were trying to be too cool. It was icky, but
clean and new.

I can't say the same for our place in Paris. This place is pretty much
scuzzy. It smells like old people. At least there's a washing machine.

I better go buy an Hermes wallet to make myself feel better.

Smells like onions

I don't know what it is! Prague totally smells like onions everywhere!

I woke up at 3am today. I blame jet lag. I need to try and stay up
tonight so I wake up later tomorrow. But at least the free breakfast
at our hotel was surprisingly good. Fried eggs mmmm! Too bad they
charge $40 to use the pool and sauna!
